Everything you need to run flawless events with TimeCue.
Quick Start
Get your first timer running in under 60 seconds.
Create a room
From your Dashboard, click New Room. Give it a name like "Sunday Service" or "Q4 Conference".
Add timers
Click + Add Timer. Enter a title, duration, and optional speaker name. Add as many as you need.
Share the display
Click Output Links and open the Viewer Display link on your stage screen. It syncs automatically.
Start the show
Press Space or click Play. The timer counts down on all connected displays in real-time.
Understanding Views
TimeCue has three views, each designed for a specific purpose.
Controller
Your command center. Add timers, control playback, send messages, and manage everything from here.
Display
What your audience sees. A clean, full-screen countdown optimized for stage screens and confidence monitors.
Presenter View
PROFor speakers. Shows the timer on their phone plus chat with the control room. No app download needed.

Adjusting Time
Running over or ahead? Adjust on the fly without stopping.
- Press + to add 1 minute
- Press - to subtract 1 minute
- Click Add time on any timer row for quick adjustments
- Use the clock icon for preset amounts (+5, +10, -5 min)
Timer Colors
Timers change color as time runs out:
Customize warning thresholds when adding or editing a timer.
Stage Messages
Send instant messages to the stage display. Perfect for cues, alerts, or last-minute changes.
Creating Messages
In the Controller, look for the Messages panel on the right.
- Click + Add Message
- Type your message (e.g., "2 minutes left" or "Wrap up now")
- Choose a color: White, Green, Yellow, or Red
- Click the eye icon to show it on the display

Sharing & QR Codes
Get your team connected in seconds with shareable links and scannable QR codes.
Output Links
Click Output Links in the Controller to see all shareable URLs:
- Viewer Display — For stage screens
- Presenter View — For speakers' phones PRO
- Controller — For additional operators
QR Codes
Each link has a QR code button. Click it to:
- Display a scannable QR code
- Download as PNG for printing or sharing
Keyboard Shortcuts
Power users love shortcuts. Memorize these for lightning-fast control.

Presenter View
PROGive your speakers their own personal timer — right on their phone.
How It Works
- Share the Presenter View link or QR code with your speaker
- They open it on their phone (no app needed)
- They enter their name and tap Join
- They see the live countdown and can chat with your control room
What Presenters See
- Current timer with color changes
- Timer title and their name
- Quick action buttons to message control
- Full chat with the control room
Live Chat
PROCommunicate with presenters in real-time. No more waving or shouting across the room.
For Controllers
Switch to the Chat tab in the right panel to see messages from all connected presenters.
- See who's connected and their messages
- Reply with quick actions (OK, Done, Hold, Adding time)
- Type custom messages
- Mute noisy presenters if needed
For Presenters
Tap the chat icon to open messaging. Use quick actions for common requests.
Connected Devices
See who's connected to your room in real-time.
In the Controller, look for the Connected section. It shows:
- Live green indicator for each connected device
- Controllers with "You" or "Ctrl" badge
- Presenters with their names
Click Share Links to quickly invite more people.
Audio Chimes
PROAudio cues help you stay aware without watching the screen constantly.
Available Chimes
- Timer Start — When a timer begins
- Yellow Warning — When time is running low
- Red Warning — When time is critical
- Timer End — When time runs out
- New Message — When a chat message arrives
Setup
- Open Settings in the Controller
- Toggle Enable Audio Chimes
- Enable or disable individual chimes as needed
- Adjust volume with the slider
- Click Test to preview the sound
Import / Export
Bulk create timers from a spreadsheet or export your running order.
Exporting
Click Actions → Export as Excel (or CSV) to download your timers.
The Excel file includes TimeCue branding, formatted columns, and a total duration row.
Importing
- Click Actions → Import from File
- Select an Excel (.xlsx) or CSV file
- Preview the timers that will be imported
- Choose Add to existing or Replace all
- Click confirm
Template
Click Actions → Download Template to get a pre-formatted Excel file with:
- Instructions sheet
- Example timers
- Proper column headers

Billing & Subscription
Manage your subscription easily from your dashboard.
Starting a Trial
Click Start Trial on any Pro feature or from the Dashboard. You get full access for 14 days, no credit card needed.
Managing Your Subscription
- Go to your Dashboard
- Click your profile menu (top right)
- Select Manage Subscription
- Update payment method, change plan, or cancel
Cancellation
Cancel anytime. You'll keep access until the end of your billing period. No refunds for partial months.
FAQ
Do presenters need to create an account?
No. They just open the Presenter View link and enter their name. That's it.
Can multiple people control the timer?
Yes. Share the Controller link with your team. All controllers see real-time updates.
Does it work offline?
TimeCue requires an internet connection for real-time sync. Each device needs to be online.
What browsers are supported?
Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge. For best results, use the latest version.
Can I use it on mobile?
Yes. The Presenter View is optimized for phones. The Controller works on tablets but is best on desktop.
Is my data secure?
Yes. We use industry-standard encryption and never share your data. See our Privacy Policy.
What happens when a timer reaches zero?
It shows 0:00 in red and stays there. It doesn't automatically advance unless you press Next.
Can I reorder timers?
Yes. Drag and drop using the grip handle on the left of each timer row.
Troubleshooting
Timer isn't syncing across devices
Check that all devices have an internet connection. Refresh the page. If it persists, try a different browser.
Audio chimes aren't playing
Make sure chimes are enabled in Settings. Check your device volume. Some browsers require you to interact with the page before playing audio — click anywhere first.
Can't see the Presenter View option
Presenter View is a Pro feature. Start your free trial or upgrade to access it.
Export is failing
Make sure you have at least one timer in your room. Try exporting as CSV if Excel isn't working.
Page is slow or unresponsive
Close other browser tabs. Clear your browser cache. Try a different browser.
